My story
HELLO!
My name is Gustavo Galindo, owner of Galimeza handmade furniture and decor.

I was born in Peru and moved to the United States when I was 18 years old. I started the handmade furniture and decor business on my own. Grew up and lived in Peru until I was 18 years old in a household where five families lived under the same roof including my parents. They had a house attached with a small manufacturing workshop and everyone worked there independently. My Dad and Uncles would create household products and sell them to the public around the town. I would observe their creations and productivity while join them and at the same time learn from their productivity. It was a pure work environment. Learning and helping my Dad with his creations and help him sell them. I helped my Uncles and they all paid me. I made little house ornaments as well. My grandfather on my Dad's side was an independent inventor but not worldly famous. He was well known around the town where he used to live and my grandmother on my Mother's side, her cousins were furniture designers and makers. I have both my parents genetics from my Dad and Mom side as well. When I immigrated to the United States, I did many good things for many years but it had nothing to do with furniture creation and building. I made wooden cartoons and sold them at the flea markets with my Dad. Over the years I began working in a furniture manufacturer were there built conference tables and other furniture. At these facilities, I learned more about lumber, plywood, hard and soft woods, power tools, assembling, building, spraying, painting, staining, finishing clear coats, veneering, solid color laminates, designer laminates and more. Furthermore, I know how to design, create, and to repair wood furniture as well. I worked there for about 5 years and learned a lot, but, a furniture maker, a craftsman, a custom-made, a woodworker and furniture designers never stop learning. I am a student for life, striving to learn something new with each project. As time passed, I discovered that I had a talent of making furniture and I began to design coffee tables. The talent I had began to come out and with effort, I began to develop it. One day I took a few of my furniture designs and a few wood sculptures that I made to a craft show exhibition to see if people liked them and they ended up liking my products and from there on, I realized that I had to plan how to set up my own furniture business. Moreover, I can make solid wood, soft wood, veneering, thick laminate, painting, staining and plywood beds, kitchen tables, coffee tables, desks, book shelves, dog wooden houses, cat wooden houses, wood sculptures, house number signs, wooden decor and more. My technique and skills have developed and now I pay a lot of attention to furniture designs. I have also learned to observed from great furniture designers, makers and learned some of their skills and combine them with mine. Now I have developed my furniture technique and am able to build my visions. It has really opened my creativity to be able to design and build new ideas and develop my own style.
As I develop my style, I always look at some of the furniture I have built, there is a lot of adrenaline and passion in building the piece, and would enjoy building it again. When I look forward to my next project, I am excited and passionate to see my new ideas and creations come to life. All the products that I am creating now, I do it with passion and for the pleasure of the customers. It is important that they are satisfied and happy with the products they purchase. I do not mass produce any of my products. Each of my products are carefully handmade one at the time. Also, I design my own furniture and decor and make personalized and custom made furniture to the taste of the customer as well. I feel that this is the best, because each customer is different and has different specifications and needs.
